Terms and conditions

These terms apply to English tutoring supplied by Sam Somerville, an independent sole trader in the United Kingdom. By booking a lesson, the person making the booking agrees to these terms. For students under 18, the booking must be made by a parent or guardian.

1. Tutoring services

One-to-one English tuition is available for KS3, GCSE and A Level students. Lessons may take place online through Google Meet or in person where the location has been agreed in writing before booking. Lesson content is adapted to the student’s stated needs and level.

2. Bookings and payment

Bookings are managed through TidyCal and payment is processed securely by Stripe. Prices are shown in pounds sterling (GBP) and payment is due before the lesson. A booking is confirmed when payment has been accepted and confirmation issued.

3. Four-session plans

The £190 plan includes four 60-minute sessions. The £380 plan includes four 120-minute sessions. Unless otherwise agreed, sessions take place once a week during the paid period. A plan may renew only where this is clear at checkout and the customer has chosen a subscription. Future renewal may be stopped before the next payment date.

4. Attendance and conduct

Students should arrive on time with requested materials. Online attendees are responsible for a suitable device, internet connection and working environment. Respectful conduct is required.

5. Educational outcomes

Tuition supports learning and examination preparation, but no particular grade, mark or admission outcome is guaranteed. Progress depends on factors including attendance, participation and independent study.

6. Cancellations and refunds

The separate refund and cancellation policy forms part of these terms. Nothing in these terms limits rights that cannot lawfully be excluded under UK consumer law.

7. Materials and privacy

Original lesson materials are for the student’s personal study and must not be sold or distributed without permission. Personal information is handled as described in the privacy policy.
